KCT is home to 12 esteemed research centres across diverse academic disciplines, each recognized by Anna University for doctoral research. These centres provide an ecosystem where innovation thrives, offering students and faculty opportunities to contribute to advancements in their fields. Research at KCT is shaping industries, solving problems, and leading to groundbreaking discoveries.
iQube bridges the gap between student skills and industry demands by fostering technical expertise and innovation. It empowers tech enthusiasts to create real-world solutions, develop commercially viable prototypes, and pursue their dreams with expert guidance and mentorship.
Garage is an automotive product development and research centre where students design and build vehicles like ATVs, dirt bikes, go-karts, and solar karts. It fosters innovation and problem-solving, preparing students for global motorsport competitions and contributing to the automotive industry through research.
Ré fosters a research and explorative culture among KCT students, inspiring innovation and problem-solving. Run by students, it provides technical expertise, mentorship, and financial support for research projects. Ré collaborates with other KCT research forums, driving impactful engineering solutions.
NFRC, part of Ré at KCT, pioneers eco-friendly innovations. It developed Kenaf fibre sanitary napkins, winning the First Chhatra Vishwakarma Award. NFRC also crafted biodegradable Ganapathy idols using bagasse fibre, promoting sustainability and environmental harmony.
Nithilam explores history, medicine, culture, heritage, and science, tracing their origins and future impact. Passionate students delve into the legacy of ideas shaping today’s world. Ongoing projects include research on Silambam and video documentation on Yali, preserving cultural and scientific heritage.
Kumaraguru Centre for Industrial Research and Innovation (KC.IRI) fosters a dynamic research and innovation ecosystem through close collaboration with industries. It drives industry-specific applied research, product development, advanced learning, and skill development, connecting KCT academia with industry to enhance research output and drive process improvements.
Mission REACH aims to elevate Indian science and engineering institutions to world-class standards by establishing Centres of Relevance and Excellence (CORE). At KCT, the TIFAC CORE focuses on Textile Technology & Machinery, making it the first in India dedicated to the textile sector. In collaboration with industry and government, it drives advanced research, postgraduate education, and vocational training, empowering India’s textile industry to lead globally.
Forge, launched by Coimbatore Innovation & Business Incubator, supports startups in AI/ML, IoT, electronics, robotics, and more. It offers a 20,000 sq. ft. innovation hub, grants, acceleration, and seed funding to transform ideas into high-growth enterprises.
